These services are available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. The program includes crisis intervention and immediate mental health assessment, as well as short-term intensive outpatient services at locations throughout the community.
The Bilingual Program serves the Latino community. The program works directly with the Spanish-speaking families in need of mental health and outreach services for their children. These services are available at the Center’s main office in Norwalk.
Prospects Summer Program is a six-week group experience for behaviorally challenged children from ages six to 12. It includes group and individual therapy, recreational activities, creative arts, psychiatric consultation and monitoring, parent education, guidance and support, school consultation, family counseling and crisis intervention.
Prospects After School Program is an extended day program in a therapeutic setting with features similar to the summer program. It is held every day during the school year to serve seriously emotionally disturbed children having difficulty with peer and adult relationships. Special programming also takes place during school holidays and vacations.
A specially trained team of staff members in psychiatry, psychology and social work handle sexual and physical abuse cases. The team focuses on evaluating and treating sexually and physically abused children, siblings, and non-offending adults in the family.
PRESCHOOL SERVICES
Mental Health consultation is available to child care centers in an effort to promote and facilitate early identification of mental health needs, and provide consultation and training to staff. The provision of assessment and treatment services to preschoolers and their caregivers is also available to promote the social and emotional development of children.
